The Manavgat River is one of the longest underground rivers, at the same time is among the few rivers in the world that are supplied from a single source (the Dumanli source; is contained within the Oymapinar dam lake) O. There are two dams on it. The Oymapinar and the Manavgat dams. Its clean and pure turquoise green water is rich with minerals. If you wish to, you may swim a stroke in these green and cool waters or make small explorations in a canoe. The river hosts many fish and bird species. (Fish species like trout, carp, mullet, sea bass, tench and birds like moor hen, duck, goose, kingfisher and other species of heron, gull and sweet-water turtles). All along the river there is a rich variety of flora and fauna. One sees willow, oak poplar, mulberry, elm trees and small lemur shrubbery such as bramle berry, currant, oleander and foliage. In addition one can see sweet-water turtles sun bathing on dry logs. All along the rich river bed there are citrus-gardens and greenhouses filling up the fertile lands.
